PRODUCTION
WE.ARE Institute is a conceptual and production platform dedicated to addressing the central questions of our time through the creation, exhibition, and dissemination of contemporary art. For over a decade, we have been an international force for progressive artistic practices, operating from our base in Berlin with a global reach.
As an institute for all aspects of contemporary art production, WE.ARE fosters immersive and socially engaged works. We actively shape current national and international art and cultural discourse through collaborative projects with artists and institutions, alongside commissioned pieces. Our commitment to collaboration extends to activism and mentoring, creating spaces for reflection and change through art.
A key focus of the institute is supporting the ambitious, long-term projects of artist JAŠA. This includes landmark presentations such as Slovenia's national pavilion at the 2015 Venice Biennale with the durational project UTTER, and ongoing international works. Currently, JAŠA's evolving project, The Monuments, unfolds across chapters at the iconic Kühlhaus Berlin, a testament to our dedication to providing artists with unique spatial canvases. WE.ARE also proudly collaborates with esteemed partners like the Ulay Foundation with Rosa Lux.
Without a permanent collection, WE.ARE Institute maintains the flexibility to create responsive and impactful programming that engages diverse audiences and explores the evolving landscape of contemporary art.
